Biography:
Gene grew up under a rich family; his father a politician and his mother a lawyer. Even as a child, he remained distant from his father and peers; feeling too 'forced' when speaking with them and too 'looked down upon' by his father. Mrs. Stratton seemed to be the only person who the boy could comfortably converse with, which formed a close relationship between the two. During his later high school years, Gene's parents filed a divorce with one and another due to irreconcilable differences. At the time, the father was running for governor, and a divorce was bound to be publicized by news reporters. The wife eventually told the news reporters of her domestic life (albeit she made exaggerations) in order to spite her soon-to-be-ex-husband. In the midst of this all, Gene grew more anxious that he wouldn't be under the care of his mother. He hoped the best for his mother, and, honestly, he didn't care much for his father. The divorce, however, ended with despair when the mother disappeared during her lunch hour- never to be found again. Some have pointed their fingers at Mr. Stratton, but not enough evidence has confirmed his involvement. This devastated Gene, and eventually trapped him in a state of mental illness. Frustration built up, and the only way Gene could express his emotions without causing a scene was to discretely kill animals. Neighbors eventually found out about these practices, and recommended for Gene to be admitted into a psychiatric facility.

[The following is not on any official documentation, but it is major enough to be included in the Bio:]

Publicizing the divorce destroyed Mr. Stratton's political and local popularity which effectively screwed his chances for office. In hopes that he could silence news about the divorce and bring the popularity back under his control, Mr. Stratton hired a group of thugs looking to make some quick cash. During Mrs. Stratton's lunch hour, the thugs organized themselves and kidnapped the mother. Considering the damage she did to his election and the status of their marriage, Mr. Stratton didn't have any qualms about ridding the woman for good. She was killed, and her body was well hidden. Later, the politician would use the 'disappearance' of his wife to gain sympathy from the citizens (which helped his popularity, but not enough to win). Gene overheard a conversation about payment between the killers and his father, which deepened his emotional wounds. After realizing this, the father confronted and threatened Gene with the same fate if he ever spoke about it. Considering his wealth and power, Gene didn't doubt that the father would follow up on these threats.
