Name: Starling Lovell

Gender: Female

Species: Human/Fennec

Age: 16

DOB: July 17

Height: 5'2"

Weight: 87 lbs

Symptoms: Doesn't eat, when she does it's very little. Doesn't seem to care much about eating. Depressed. Short attention span, very distant. Has a history of attempted suicide. Seems incredibly uncomfortable around men, in crowds, in small places, during thunderstorms, and many other things falling into that category. Also suffers from paranoia. So, in short:

  • Phobias (Bees, storms, men, the undersides of tables and lampshades as well as the surface of window sills, death, small spaces, spiders, among other things.)
    PTSD
    OCD (fairly minor, but noteworthy)
    Depression
    Panic and Anxiety Attacks
    Paranoia

Biography: From the time she was young, she had yet to have a stable father figure in her life. Each one was decidedly awful in one way shape or form. The first was brief, and that was her biological father. The second was when her mother married and gave birth to her brother. The man was on steroids and had a terrible temper problem, often he would abuse her mother and once, while she was little, she was pushed to the concrete and suffered a seizure. Might have endured head trauma.

Her mother left the man and was forced to flee into hiding with the knowledge he would kill them (as he had threatened to do so). She later got with another man (who she would have her third and last child with), who was probably the most tame out of the three so far. He favored his biological daughter, as well as his step-son (even though he was always so impatient and gave him spankings over dumb reasons). This was obvious during small situations such as meals, where she would be given substantially less than her brother.

During her mother's relationship with this man, Starling met her biological father and his side of the family. Later, her mother left and they were without a father for a while. She met another man who was abusive only to their mother, and neglectful, but they managed. She left him to go back to the third man she was with, then wound up switching back to the previous one again. It was during these years, when she was eight or nine, that her biological father began to slowly introduce new forms of affection in ways that she didn't understand weren't normal.

Through the years these different forms of affection increased to more involving practices, and though she was uncomfortable with them, she had no choice. She'd never leave that damned basement if she didn't cooperate. Eventually, she saw that this was wrong (with the help of her boyfriend at age 13) and sought to stop seeing him and begin trying to persecute him. Never happened. Before she even met her boyfriend, she was torn between telling and keeping it a secret. She planned to kill herself, but the day she set aside for doing just that, she recieved a note from the boy who would soon be her boyfriend. In a way he saved her, but in another way he caused just as much problems.

He was emotionally abusive without intending to be, or so she hoped, due to his schizophrenia and MPD. While not fully himself, he had attempted to go through with a pretend confrontation scenario where she was supposed to defend herself, which ended in a scene that would unfold into rape if it was real. He didn't want to stop. She grew afraid, but after pitching a fearful fit and reminding him that her siblings were nearby, he stopped. On top of that, she accepted random punches and slaps to test her reflexes. Without realizing it, it had caused her to always tense up when something moves nearby.

Her mother found a great man when she was thirteen, so there weren't anymore terrible abuses. Just listening to two people fight all the time. When she was sixteen, after her boyfriend and she broke up (for good, this time, thank God), she lost the ability to truly care about herself for a while. Her mind dwelled on the terrible things that happened and she had been caught poking holes in her knees with a little pocket knife, a dazed look in her eye. She wasn't even thinking about it, really, and had no intent to harm herself that moment, though she later admitted she was feeling rather suicidal lately, and not because of the breakup. Her mother admitted her to East Haven shortly after that in hopes of helping her daughter. Starling isn't mad, just... even more depressed and afraid.

Medical History: Anorexia, memory problems, zoning out too much to the point of hindering life, short attention span (possible ADD), several digestive problems, vitamin D deficiency, mild tourettes syndrome, mitrovalve prolapse, vasovagal syndrome, moderately bad vision, anemia.
